Happy July Everyone!
How have we already made it this far into the year? Man it has flown by. I wanted to start off but just putting down on digital paper my thanks. Thank you for being you. Thank God for His goodness. Thank my family for their loyalty and love. There is so much to be thankful for.
Beginnings, Middles, and Ends
Yesterday, June 30th at 6:26 PM we gathered as a family to say our final goodbyes to my pup Lumber Jack Le Doux, affectionately “Jack” “Jackie Boy” or “Jack Jack”. He was roughly 7 years old. I chose to put him down due to cancer and internal bleeding. Monday of this week I remember collapsing on the ground crying because I was so heartbroken over the pain my boy was in. I couldn’t bare the thought of him being in pain, but I also couldn’t bare the dread of the day when we would say goodbye. Tuesday was a different case. Jack had shown improvement (at that point we didn’t know it was cancer). Wednesday was not the best. Then Thursday rolled around. My brother and I took him in for a vet visit, hopeful that there would be some solutions. We called my family and everyone had come to say goodbye. We walked in with Jack and walked out together as a family, one member short.
I don’t tell you this to evoke sadness or sympathy. I tell you this to remind you to simply enjoy life with the people and animals you love. Jack will forever be my baby boy and I am incredibly thankful for the gift he was to my life. There is so much you could say or do, but sometimes simply being with the ones who have made your life worth living is enough. Don’t regret what could have been or what wasn’t, but honor those in our life by living it well. Take your time. Enjoy. They won’t be there forever, and they may be here now, but will live on in our hearts for eternity.
In the midst of all of this, I have had tremendous peace. I knew it was the right and good thing to do. I celebrate Jack’s life! Boy did he has a good one.
I am thankful for my boy Jack. I am thankful for Jean-Marc who came with me to the vet and was there he entire time. I am thankful to Christian, who drove down to be with Jack in his last moments of earth. I am thankful for my Dad who stopped everything to come be with us. I am thankful for my Mom who set aside all other cares to say goodbye. I am thankful for all of you who reached out in love and support.
So, all of that to say, I am thankful. I am deeply deeply thankful.
(Below was right after I made the decision to send Jack to heaven. My brother Jean-Marc was there with me.)
Celebrations
With this theme of thankfulness, I wanted to take a second to be thankful for the United States of America. As you go into your 4th of July celebrations, may you have peace and joy! May your time together with you friends and or family be filled with reconciliation and laughter.
I am thankful for the joy that comes in this season and I am thankful for the excuse to celebrate with one another. How about you? What are you thankful for?
Tidbit: July 4, 1776 was not the actual day that the Declaration of Independence was signed. It was actually July 2, 1776, which also happens to be one of my friend’s birthday. Shoutout to Kendra!
July Lesson Schedule and Performances
I am taking the month of July off of teaching to spend more time with my family and prepare for some really exciting announcements! So stayed tuned for that.
I will be back to teaching in August and I have lesson slots open for new students! Let me know if you are interested.
I also have no live performances scheduled for July, but keep your eyes pealed for some exciting live stuff in August!
I’ll Be Here - Exclusive Video
I wanted to leave you with a song that resonated with me. While we might not all relate to the storyline of the song, I think we can all related to the joy of beginnings, the sadness of endings, and the hope for fresh starts. May this song bless you as it has me and remind you that “These three remain, faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13
Best,
Amiee Le Doux
